Walk for a more compassionate and sustainable world

12 December is D-Day for the planet as world leaders meet in Copenhagen to do a global deal on climate change.

While they talk the talk, we're walking the walk all over the world, from New York to Tokyo, Mumbai to Paris and all over Australia. So get your walking shoes on and be part of the most important Walk Against Warming ever.

Walk Against Warming is Australia's largest day of community action on climate change and every year the Conservation Council of WA runs the Walk Against Warming in Perth.

The aim of Walk Against Warming is to show our political leaders that Western Australians are deeply concerned about global warming.

This year, the walk will take place on Saturday 12th from 11am to 3pm and will be opened by our Lord Mayor, Lisa Scaffidi, who will also lead the procession. We chose the date to coincide with the midpoint of the Copenhagen Climate Summit and the International Day of Action on Climate Change.

We are expecting to see over five thousand participants joining the walk from the Perth Cultural Centre to Russell Square. At its conclusion, this family-friendly event will include stalls for businesses, government and community organisations as well as entertainment for people of all ages.

DETAILS:
