Investigate

Exposing Hidden SufferingBringing animal exploitation out from behind closed doors.

Our current investigation can be viewed below and you can also check out our previous investigations.

Investigations can take many forms and we recommend you evaluate your own skills and decide what type of investigation work you are suited to. The most common investigations are open rescues which were pioneered by Patty Mark, founder of Animal Liberation Victoria.

Open Rescue is based on giving aid, rescue and veterinary treatment to any animal known to be suffering and in pain, yet trapped in confined conditions where they have been neglected and/or abandoned to slowly die. The focus is primarily on farms, the largest area of animal abuse in the world. The immediate aim of open rescue is to save lives and secondly to document the cruel conditions forced upon literally billions of animals around the world.

ARA encourages people who witness animal abuse to report it to the authorities. Check out Report Abuse for more information on documenting, reporting and exposing animal abuse.

Whistleblowers Wanted

ARA seeks industry workers who are willing to expose animal abuse.

If you work for an industry that exploits animals and are willing to document the abuse please get in touch. ARA can provide technical support and your details will remain confidential.

Current Investigation

A Gingin 'grower' piggery is currently under investigation by the Department for Local Government and Regional Development.

ARA received footage appearing to document crippled pigs left to die, pigs feeding on other pigs' dead bodies and an untreated erysipelas disease outbreak.

The footage prompted a raid on the farm by the police stock squad and local government, health, agriculture and immigration officials on the 25th January 2007.

The investigation is still pending.

Much of the footage below was taken with a mobile phone hence is lower quality than other footage on the site.
