Cat Foster Carers Urgently Needed
Friday, 19 September 2008 07:32

Can you be a short term foster carer for cats surrendered to the Shenton Park Cat Haven?

The Cat Haven has discovered ring worm in two of their sheds. For those of you not familiar with Ring Worm, it’s a highly contagious fungal disease, that can remain in the environment for 18 months.

They need to clean and fumigate the sheds for a minimum of two weeks. During this time, they will not be accepting any cats and kittens into the Haven for adoption due to the possibility of infection. This means that any surrendered cats or kittens during the next two weeks will be killed. Obviously this is very distressing and of a major concern for us, and we are asking for help from you to foster care cats and kittens for the next two weeks, to give them a chance.

At this stage, the Haven are just appealing for names and numbers of those whom are prepared to help them. Please feel free to forward this message to any friends or family that you think can help. To provide your contact details get in touch with Sally Larder on welfare@cathaven.com.au or 9442 3633.
