Walk Against Warming
Tuesday, 11 November 2008 06:25

Bring your friends and family on Saturday 15th November and support action against Climate Change today!

The Walk Against Warming is WA’s biggest community climate change event that sends a strong message to decision makers that climate change is serious and requires bold action.  This year the walk will be held at one of Perth’s most popular beaches to highlight the vulnerability of the WA coastline to sea level rise as one possible impacts of climate change.

The community's voice has never been more important to demand strong, urgent action from our government and justice for developing nations affected by global warming.

In WA we need to show the new State Government that the community is SERIOUS about climate change and want to see CLEAN ENERGY, STRONG TARGETS and immediate ACTION.

Join hundreds of West Australians in an activity that will call for climate change action on Cottesloe Beach!  Free entertainment and special guest speakers will be on the beach from 10am – 1pm

Speakers Include:

  • The Hon. Colin Barnett, Premier of Western Australia
  • Kevin Morgan, Mayor of Cottesloe
  • Scott Ludlam, Australian Greens Senator for WA
  • Louise Pratt, Australian Labor Party Senator for WA
  • Piers Verstegen, Director Conservation Council of WA

Help us to spread the message!!  Please forward this email to your   networks or download and distribute the attached flier.
