Building Alliances Against Oppression

Animal Rights Advocates Inc. is once again joining forces with ROAR Feminist Collective to deliver another forum for activists interested in exploring the connections between feminism, animal rights and the dynamics of oppression.

Workshop details:

Sunday, 9 August 2009

2:00pm - 5:00pm

Earthwise Centre, 315 Bagot Road, Subiaco, Western Australia

RSVP - info@ara.org.au

Some of the themes we will be exploring:

  • How does sexism in the animal rights movement harm women and animals?
  • How are the bodies of women and animals commodified for pleasure and profit?
  • How is meat-eating linked to masculinity?
  • How is language used to normalise the exploitation of women and animals?

Stay tuned for more details of the workshop content.
