In this free forum hosted by Animal Rights Advocates Inc., experienced lawyer Ian Weldon and veterinarian and recent law graduate Maike Dorn will discuss the protections that are - and are not - provided by the animal welfare laws in Western Australia.

In addition to highlighting the law's strengths, they will also highlight its weaknesses, such as enforcement and lack of protections for farm and feral animals.

Both will also provide examples of their experiences in animal law. Mr. Weldon will discuss the Al-Kuwait live export prosecution, whilst Ms. Dorn will discuss her first-hand experiences as a veterinarian who has been involved in animal cruelty prosecutions as the attending veterinarian.
